Look for stains on the walls, weeds in gutters, cracked or corroded pipes and loose, misaligned or missing fixings that may prevent water taking the quickest route to ground drainage.

Frequently check parapet and valley gutters for obstructions. Metal flashings and mortar fillets are designed to direct water away from vulnerable areas. Where necessary take appropriate remedial action.
