Aberdeen City Heritage Trust helps take care of the historic environment by making available a limited number of discretionary grants for the external repair of historic buildings in Aberdeen's conservation areas.

The Trust decides where to direct its funding in order to meet its objectives at any time. There is no automatic entitlement to a grant because a property falls in a conservation area or is a listed building. Trust's grants are separate from any requirement property owners may have to comply with planning legislation, which is dealt with by the local planning authority Aberdeen City Council.

Complete the Preapplication Enquiry Form to establish whether your property and any parts of your repair or restoration project may be eligible for grant assistance.

Summary details of Trust grants are available. Fuller details of Trust current priorities and eligible work that might attract assistance are also available.

In certain circumstances Historic Scotland and the Heritage Lottery Fund may be able to provide funding for projects on historic buildings.
