Granite Festival Guided Tour

24 Jun 2013

Thirty one people, including tourists from Halifax Nova Scotia, turned up to take advantage of a guided tour through the streets of Aberdeen from Castlegate to Golden Square as part of Aberdeen’s 3rd Granite Festival.

Council Historian Chris Croly and Trust Project Officer Douglas Campbell highlighted the city’s background history and some of the different types of granite used in its construction.

Taking the Old King’s Highway route out of the city from the Market Cross provided an unusual perspective on the city, examples of Aberdeen’s older historic fabric and its finely crafted granite heritage.
